Do You Listen To The Story Of The Dull And The Ignorant?

We love to listen only to the things that our ears wants to hear.
But the 4th line of the poem "Desiderata" clearly says, "...and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story."
Everyone loves a story, especially "good story". It is interesting to note from the poem the phrase "and listen to others".
Do we listen to others? or Do we only hear our own voice?
I believe that everyone has a story to tell...no matter what that story is...and I am ready to listen...

I do my best to listen to others, even if I disagree with their viewpoint.

I love hearing what others have to say - if they are dull, it is interesting to figure out why

We participate and as such listen. Together. Not only just one person speaking here.
