This lovely rose was blooming at Easter in Oklahoma.
It is always interesting to me how the climate varies when we drive less than four hours from our home.
At our home it was still winter like. My brother had tulips and iris and fruit trees and roses blooming.
I am going to get ready now to ride the bus, I hope you have a blooming day.

@GardenGerty I wish it were soggier here . . . but I shouldn't be complaining as we did have a few showers here and there. Yes, I think summer will be here in a few hours .

Are you in the UK now instead of Spain. I guess I never think of the climate differences in the UK.

Our spring flowers are just about done. We just planted our annuals and the vegetable garden. It's been so rainy around here it was hard to get done with it.

@GardenGerty most are red but there are other varieties like rhe pure white, pink and some growers have also developed variegated roses.

A lovely specimen that rose Heather. Truly beautiful, my favorite flower is the rose.
And an Oklahoma one at that.
Hope your bus ride is nice.
You too Heather, hope the day is lovely as a rose for you.

The bus ride was uneventful. Second grade potted up plants for their moms and we managed not to spill any of them.

Lovely rose..Is it's name Oklahoma rose? Or did you call it because it was there?

I called it that because it was blooming in Oklahoma, and I live in Kansas.

They are quite a bit further south than I am and that makes a big difference.

Is it cooler where you are than other places nearby? It is for us, just a bit.

@GardenGerty It is warmer if we go south to the lake, it's cooler if we go north, closer to the Alps.

In our home state roses bloomed mid-summer - here they bloom early spring..hard to get used to some of these things even after 16 years

You must have migrated a bit south. I think it is a challenge to get our mind around new climates as adults.

That Oklahoma rose certainly is a beauty. It is funny how even short distances can have different weather than us.

My daughter says her lilacs are starting to bloom, in Minnesota. They are well past here.
