My life has come to the point from where I see nothing ahead. I'm a 20yo Science Student in a University and also preparing for the medical entrance exam to study medicine. I am getting failed continuously for 3 years in medical entrance exam. Also, because of preparing for medical entrance exam each year, I am unable to perform well in University exams also and the result is that my progress is continuously going low year by year.
In University, Last year I had satisfied marks while this year, results aren't out yet and I'm beginning to think I might get fail this year. If I fail this year, this will be my first ever life failure in exams.
Apart from this, I'm unable to pass the medical entrance exam since last 3 years. This exam is quite the toughest of all since only about 3000 people are selected every year out of 1.1 million people and increasing every year.
I already know that to pass in this entrance I need to prepare by doing extreme level of hardwork for which I may have to drop university. On the other hand, If I want to score good in University exams to get Bachelor in Science degree, I need to drop the idea of medical entrance exam and focus only on it.
I don't understand why my parents don't understand that I'm a human being, I can't handle both at the same time. Because of this unstability, my mind is not focus on either things. If I fail in University exams(when results will be out this month), I don't know what to do, because I still not be wanting to repeat my year.
I'm literally crying each day. Whenever I talk about this to my parents, they just blame everything on me, my mobile, my things.
My parents are good in everything except in this matter. I've tried talking out many times which results in being my fault.
I don't want to give any medical entrance exam more and also if I get failed, I don't have much energy or will power to start it all over again. I'm tired of everything.

You take a deep breath...Can't you ask some other grown up to talk to your parents.
I know that entrance exams are tough.
Let your results come out first.
You don't get stressed out
You wrote that episode very well

That's sad, I can understand your situation and patents pressure, but you are the one who have to overcome this, don't loose hope. Try to speak to your parents. If one door is closed another will always be there

Try to find an understanding relative or a religious person your parents trust. Tell this person honestly what your problem is and ask him or her to talk to your parents for you. You shouldn't be present when this conversation takes place. I think it's possible that your parents only see the prestige a title may bring to the family and forget your wishes and capabilities. But then, I don't really understand why you want to or have to study science and medicine at the same time. This sounds absurd.
Have you ever considered becoming a nurse? The entrance exam may be easier.

Actually, here in India, alot of people who are graduated in science are jobless while those who are studying medicine don't have a job problem and also earn a good amount of money.
For over whole 1 year, I was serious about it but when I failed, my motivation broke completely and then I never thought about that again. Entrance is not easier in India. Only 3000 people out of 1 million get selected. You think it's easy ? Even in Harvard, only 65000 people apply from all over the world and 2000 get selected.
And I'm not studying medicine, I'm studying to pass an entrance exam after which I'll study medicine to become doctor or nurse

Please don't be tired so soon Gaurav. Failing in an exam is not an end. It's just a new beginning.
Don't let this failure fail you in life.
You are extremely capable. May be this isn't just the right field.
This can be sorted. Every problem has a solution and please trust me on that.
Tell me what's your passion?

I don't know if it's right field or not but I know for sure that if something can't be done in this matter soon, the future is dark.
My passion is music, somewhat science like building or making something practically.

@invisible_string You're right but unfortunately I'm a biology student so mechanical engineering is a thing which I cannot do even if I want to.
As far as of alternative, I do have alternative but not an opportunity.

@_ge_ez_ But that is what you think, it is not reality.
Why don't you considering switching field. I mean mechanical engineer or something which has more to with making and constructing than operating?
Don't get pressurized because of parents. They are just doing their work. They are naturally concerned and much more concerned than we are of our life. But that is fine and accepted. Don't let that hinder your progress. Please try to understand that you know yourself best. You know what is your capacity and you can certainly make the right decision for yourself. First thing's first. Make up your mind. Consider alternatives. This is no end. And parents, well trust me that is not an issue. All they want is to see you happy. If you do well in other field then they will readily understand and compromise with the situation.
