Hello MyLot!!!
I can't believe that it's been a whole ten years since I've joined this site! When I joined back in 2007, I was just thirsty for a taste of just ANYTHING (well, within moral reason of course) to earn money online.
I had such big dreams for myself at that time too. I was going to unravel the secrets of the big gurus and, instead off hoarding them for myself or selling them for ridiculous amounts of money, I was going to share them freely with all whom wanted the knowledge. My dream was to be the one that cleared the treacherous path, to make it easier for others to follow.
Ten years later and while I haven't made any path to follow through this jungle you can says that I am well on my way. Through networking with so many great people here and the vast knowledge they bring, I was lead to sources that have earned me a few thousand dollars through CPA offers over the years.
I also must thank a friend that used to be here, at least, for leading me to other Work at Home Forums (Seargent Rom I think it was...) It is her I have to attribute my 6 year career I've had from home with several different Call/Contact Centers!
Yep, its nice to look back, however I'm still not where I want to be. With as much value as I've gotten from this website in the past decade, with the wealth that I was able to gain through networking here; I simply must give back! I hve a plan for it too! But this is for another post.
What have you guys learned from being a member of Mylot, whether you've been here for ten years or ten days, there is always more valuable information to gain! What value have you gained that you couldn't gain anywhere else? Please share!

I discovered mylot when I was diagnosed with cancer. I could only go to the hospital and the rest of the time I spent at home. Mylot helped me finding friends and keeping my morals up.

Oh wow. I don't have an illness to speak of, but there were many times that I did reach out to the people I have met through MyLot, either as a post or directly, to help me through emotionally tough times as well. There are a lot of places that you can talk, but it seems this site has the best pace of this. Its where I've returned time and again!

Yes,there is always the scope of learning from everywhere. Here i am learning how different people respond to others'post?.Who respond candidly who diplomatically? What interests others, what provokes them ? I try to classify them based upon their posts and comments. So this way i am learning everyday.

When you say classify, what do you mean? Does this determine who you will follow, or not? Does this change any content in your posts?

Hi, I remember you! I knew so many from way back that I don't remember names but I know them and remember them when I see them--and you're one of them! I was away for awhile after myLot closed and just rediscovered it a few months ago.
The best thing about myLot is that I get to "see" other countries and talk to people from all over the world. I always wanted to travel but never had the money.
My life has not turned out as I'd planned, either, but it is different from when I first joined. Then, I was divorced after 19 years of marriage and in a lot of pain. Now I am good friends with my ex and his wife, I am a grandmother, and I have 2 DILs. One of my sons and DIL have separated and filed for divorce so I have another grandchild on the way and another DIL waiting for the divorce to clear. They are all sweet, wonderful women that I love.
So sometimes our lives don't go as planned but they are pretty wonderful. I'm so glad you are in a good place!

Hey Dragons! I remember you too! Its always great to see the old friends that we had here to begin with, but also gaining new friends as well!
You are right about traveling through MyLot! Secretbear83, who brought me to this site, taught me all sorts of things about Anime, which at that time I only had fledgling knowledge! I wish I could talk to her now and discuss all the wonderful things I learned through the trips she led me on!
You are right about things not turning out the way you planned! When I came to MyLot, I was sick over my kids father leaving, then later I was curious about a relationship that shouldn't have been! 10 years later I am now married in that relationship that shouldn't have been, and the kids father....well, no one cares about him lol

I have not learned but have always enjoyed sharing and knowing what people have in their mind. Like you I also had an online friend which I made from Mylot who told me about various sites which I joined and earn. But then I felt that I was wasting my time for few cents so I left them. Mylot is the only place which I continued but the reason I myself don't know.

It is incredible, once you think about it. There are many sites that have tried the pay for Social Activity model, but it seems that everyone of them folds, after time. MyLot has been around and it also seems this is the website that most people remember, when it comes to being paid just to talk!

I can understand that! I actually stopped responding here for a while myself, when MyLot stopped paying altogether and was just a social site of sorts. Not that the money that I was getting was really missed, but it seems the quality of this site went down, as many people that brought rich information to this website simply stopped coming.

@Shiva49 Not just "may exist", it did! The few times I did come here, there was no true content that I even wanted to respond to! Let alone post!

I discovered mylot some years back when it was the "old" version which I continue to miss.
I have met so many nice people on mylot and learned so much about so many things, I learned about freelance writing sites and earned a little money plus got some recognition from other mylotters. Most of those sites are no longer.
I learned about different cultures and viewpoints and religion.. I made a lot of friends and mylot was always there. I loved talking politics and current events with mylotters.
I like the newest version of mylot but still continue to miss the old. I am not as active on this site as I used to be.

I have spent only 10 days in mylot with a dream to be a eloquent writer... After joining this site I am able to meet with several good writers and also share their views in my discussions .. Some of them also sent me message personally about my writing ... Overall my journy in this site is started with a sound experience and with a mixed feelings ...
