I have been to Amsterdam. Length of stay depends on what you like to do. There's partying with many bars and legal pot smoking. There's cultural activities like Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, Rembrant's House, etc. There's the Holland Casino.

@Eliziaknows You should get a guidebook and list everything and place you want to experience and figure out time allotments from there.

@Eliziaknows I reached one afternoon from Paris by high speed train. Walked around the city for hours and the highlight was the visit to Van Gogh Museum. Bought daily ticket for train/tram rides within the city. The rest is better checked through net - siva

I went to Amsterdam for three nights in August 2017 and it was enough time. The canal sided streets and Dutch architecture are very pretty indeed. I did a day trip to Corrie Ten Boom's House in Harlem. In Amsterdam is Anne Franks House and it needs pre-booking.
