Dentures

Well I just got a letter from my insurance company that they will not pay for my bottom Dentures so how do they expect people to eat with just the top denture and no teeth on the bottom at all. I can't afford to pay for them on my own so I guess they would rather pay for me to go to the hospital because I can't chew my food small enough and it gets stuck in my throat. I hate insurance companies.

Isn't that a freakin disgrace?
Man one time I was going to have my gums cleaned you know a deep clean and they would only pay for the top half..so I didn't get it done.
Wow..really do hate them too, sorry that happen to you.

I was glad to read that you're going to fight them. One thing you may be able to do is get your primary care physician to declare you have digestion problems without a full set of dentures and that will result in costly preventative problems.
I thought the insurance laws from 2010 included dental care? I don't have insurance so I don't know but I've heard a lot of stories about how the dental insurance did a lot of people good and prevented other health problems. If all else fails, email your state representative or contact your state insurance regulator. There has to be something to do.
I do not understand and never have understood insurance companies! They refuse to pay a small amount for preventative measures but they are more than willing to pay for the injuries and illnesses that result from not taking preventative measures. It makes no freakin' sense!
