You already know for sure it isn't me LOL!!!! Twenty years ago Amazon came into existence! I wonder how many of us survived without it! I don't remember when or how I found Amazon but I am glad I did. Living in the country it's not financially responsible driving two hours and running from store to store to find what we need or want. With the touch of a few keys goods from all over are available to me. Anther benefit - I'm not a shopper, I'm a buyer. Waking through stores looking at a zillion items is not my idea of fun. Thank goodness my mother didn't pass on her shopping gene to me! That woman knew how to shop and loved it. I am the total opposite Are you an Amazon shopper? Photo from Pixbay

I like online shopping and use Amazon for ebooks and the little bit I get. Used to buy used paperbacks but now just the ebooks. I redeem Amazon gift cards on the sites I would on.

Definitely not me, either. My socks are 20. There are a couple of Amazon distribution hubs in the Louisville area. I'm not a huge Amazon shopper, but I have definitely purchased things from them. I've heard their auction/selling has about put eBay out of business because Amazon's fees are so much cheaper. Definitely, happy birthday to Amazon!

I love Amazon and it's so easy to find anything I'm looking for. Like you I hate to shop and wander through stores. It's nice getting exactly what I want and having it arrive at my front porch. Happy Anniversary Amazon!

I have bought *sooooo* much from Amazon over the years! I first started using them when it was basically books and music. :-) I also remember the reason why I chose to order from there... it's because it was one of the rare places online that allowed buying by personal check because we didn't feel comfortable using a credit card online at the time. I just checked my account... it says "customer since 1997, so I must have been there pretty much from the beginning. :-)

I never noticed, I'll have to see when I joined. How did you pay by check online? Where do you find the date you started...there site confused me sometimes LOL!

16 May 17
@Katharina OK thanks, I'll check that again.

@AbbyGreenhill It's right there in a gray box as soon as I hit the "my account" link... it says "customer since...." And the way it worked (I don't suppose they still have the check option, but I'm not sure) is the order was made, you chose the "pay by check" option, mailed it in, and then your merchandise arrived when the check cleared.... took WAY too long! hehe

Holy cow! Has it been 20 years already? And yet it's hard to remember when they weren't around, so it's got to have been that long. I remember when they were just an online bookstore... look at how they've grown!
