I have a diagnosis!!!

Good news - the doctor said I'll live! OK - not that I thought I had a brain tumor or anything weird, I was still worried about my headache. My doctor let me talk and I explained how it started, what it felt like and what I've done abut it. He said it is a tension headache and Tylenol won't help much. He said the washcloth trick is good, but you can do the same thing with a heating pad and you won't burn your fingers LOL!! He said it is not a sinus headache, which I knew already. Anyway, I feel better talking to him about it! So I came home had lunch and then went in the pool! Now if it will just go away completely! Photo from Pixabay

It's always worth the doctor's visit to find out nothing is wrong, isn't it.

Same as my hubby, tension headache, it is true Tylenol does not help at all. The idea of a heating pad sounds even better than the microwaved towel.

@AbbyGreenhill I agree, I have heating pads and I also always keep cold pads in the freezer, you never know. When I hurt my knee, I used the cold pads.

@LadyDuck I have a few of those cold packs also - they do come in handy. Time for me to take a shower, the day is getting old already!

It's good it's not something more serious. I'm glad he didn't tell you not to use the wash clothe trick, but gave you an alternative. I hope it does go completely away.

You seem to have a much better doctor than i do. As mine just blamed my pain on sinus headache which i knew it wasnt.

I tried the heating pad in the beginning but found the washcloth idea worked and felt better @AbbyGreenhill . The heating pad is just too bulky. I'm so glad it truly wasn't something serious.

I kept having headaches, and I guess they were tension. I got an adjustment from the chiropractor and he put some pressure on some spots in my neck and on the back of my skull. It sure helped. Other than that, I do like to do heat treatments. I take a white tube sock, fill it with white rice and sew up the end or tie a knot in the end.I microwave it one to two minutes and use it on the back of my neck. I hope you continue to get better and better. I am glad you will live.
