Being a Tourist in my own City!

United States
May 20, 2017 1:57am CST
The weather was lovely yesterday, so we decided to take my parents' with us to enjoy the wonderful view. We walked along the beach, sightseeing, window shopped and overall just enjoying the couple of hours we were there for. I concluded that we should really appreciate the city where we live at and all the wonderful places there are to go within driving distances. Initially we were going to stop by a restaurant too, but my parents' weren't up for it - so we grabbed dessert instead. Do you often play tourist in your city too? I hope you enjoy the pictures I captured. It was also our first time bringing our new camera out too! We've actually bought the camera a couple of months ago, or it's been longer than that but never really used it.

Before appreciating other's tourist destination we should first visit our very own. Yes, we always joy ride in our place. We have a nice place.

I would love to go sightseeing, but for some how I am too lazy for it. The ''in me'' like to go, but the ''out me'' I prefer to stay home... I don't mind being pushed out of my comfort zone. So did you take any photos?

Oh yes, I know what you mean. Before, I used to enjoy going out, but now I prefer to just be in doors. So now, I'm making it an effort to try to have some outings and enjoy. It's just all the negativity on the news makes me just want to stay home! Yes, I did take lots of photos! We took over 100 photos! I attached a collage of two photos to highlight our view, were you able to see them?

@atoz1to10 Glad you're able to see the photos! I'm not sure hopefully next week! I don't like to go during the weekends in the crowd. I prefer weekdays.

I love playing "tourist" in my own city! It is so much fun to go around and visit the different sites and places that make our city unique and inviting! Plus, it gives me fun stuff to do with the kids or the girlfriend!

Love taking road trips into the country or exploring a seaside town, that we have never been to. Sometimes Pete and I take out a map and see if we can find a new route or two. Your parents sound as if they had a great day with you!

That is nice you still use the map to take a new route or two. Have a good time exploring. :)

It's nice to be able to be a tourist sometimes, even if it is in our own city. I've done a couple of times. I don't do it often, but maybe I'll try and do it more often.

Oh yes! We don't do major traveling - so we try to go to the ins and outs of our "city" and the outskirts. There are still tons of places we haven't been too . . .which goes to show the world isn't exactly small as we say it is sometimes. Your pictures are lovely - looks like it was a super nice day!!

@infatuatedbby Hubby and I have never take a plane trip after the years we've been together, can you believe it? I don't know if I'm afraid of planes or if it's that I'm afraid of the potential bad things that can happen on a place. How long have you been in the area where you're living now? I've been "here" all my life and still there are ins and outs that I'm still discovering!

@much2say I have been here all my life too! Theres still lots of places to discover and by car I am afraid of what if moments also and potential bad things so I rather just be home, and near home. I've been on a plane once, well round trip and multiple stops so about 6 times total but one trip. My fiancé has been on a plane once too but separately.

Lovely pictures! Thank you for sharing them with all of us! Being a tourist in the city I am in, usually happens when I have visitors. So I get to go to places that I have never been as well. Hahhaha. Things and places that are interesting for me would be in the list and I let my visitors decide which ones they want to do. And I love doing sightseeing, even in my own city.
