Why Is My Photo So Grainy? - I noticed that my photo was not as good as they used to be. Instead of nice, sharp detail and clear backgrounds in the image, the picture was really very "grainy." Could it be that the camera was, as is its user, getting older and worn out? Maybe it was the selection of the photo subject Lighting? Weather? Unsteadiness? I guess that some things just make for grainy photos. Image: Grain Drying On the Farm - Gus Kilthau

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Yes indeed. The way folks deal with stuff today, it is becoming a fairly rare occasion when people recognize grain when they see it. Good work, ARM. -Gus- p.s.: As you pointed out, there is graininess and then there is also graininess. The one is much easier to see than is the other, right?

If you persist in taking photos of grain, of course your photos will be grainy! Tut tut!
