Should you listen to your parents or friends or really anybody if it means sacrificing your personal happiness or even future. Lets say, for example your parents want you to become a doctor and go to college, get a good salary and all this so you become "Successful", but what makes you happy is a creative field such as painting, should you listen to them or do what you feel is right?

This is gonna be a loaded answer man..Hear me out..
It's damn commendable that you want to make something out of your passion..But I can understand why your parents are scared and want you to go the safe route..They might have seen a lot of artists who struggle for even a day's worth of food.
So this would be my advice...Think how you will achieve in what field you love and talk it to your parents..I'm not saying that it will go according to plan..But your parents will know that you aren't joking about your passion..
And in case it doesn't work out, this is my two cents, but keep a backup plan to fall back on..If not the doctor thing, then something else.

We should go for something which makes us happy. Because if we go as per parents choice and later they find us unhappy, consequently they themselves will be sad and at that time nothing could be undone. So better to live the life the way you want.

Hmm That's a thought-provoking question @MoisesBravo1034 It depends on how old or young you are. Till you are an adult, I think you ought to listen to your parents and take their advice. After you reach adulthood, you can pursue your own goals.
Bear in mind though that parents have your best interest at heart.

If you want to be an artist then become an artist. No need to ask your friends about it. ofcourse you have to tell your parents because they're important. But don't tell many people, because 100 minds 100 opinions. You'll either get confused, demotivated or just lose your interest.
