I was reading one of Gary's @garymarsh6
posts about Ponte Veccio in Florence as well as his viewing of the picturesque village of Cinq Terre as they cruised in and about the waters surrounding Italy and it brought back such a fond memory of my hubby and I visiting the Isle of Capri in the Gulf of Napels.
Little villages on the sea's edge along the Italian coast, make for wonderful walking pleasure, however you need to be up for it.
My hubby and I decided to take the thrilling journey on the bus (for it was not for the fainthearted) up to the top, where the Belvedere of Tragara overlooks the view of the ocean and then to the separate comune of Anacapri which is located high on the hills to the west.
After some sight-seeing atop, we decided to walked down which took the rest of the day, but I shall never regret it, because as we walked down, we got to see the villas up close, smell the flora, encounter the locals, walk down single file alleyways, greet all the cats, feel the fresh air all around, eat some gelato, hear the church bells ring every 15 minutes, taste the olive oil with our bruschetta and some glorious red wine, visit the post office and then have a swim in the sea at the beach near to the Marina Grande.
The next time I visit Italy, I am going to make sure to stay on the Isle of Capri for more than a day, there is much more to see there and time just passes so quickly when you are having fun.
On another wonderful note - I have just heard from Katerina that she has published a book! I am looking forward to buying my gateway to Katerina's writings as soon as Amazon has uploaded it. Isnt that the best news ever!!
Now I find myself acquainted with 4 Published writers . . . my socialy circle is looking to become a famous crowd! Lucky me! @thea09

We almost went to Capri last year but in the end organisational difficulties meant we didn't. The mother of one of Big One's friends is originally from Capri and she has inherited the house there and was planning to rent it out for holidays. One day we will go as it sounds lovely!

The closest I got to the Isle of Capri was going through Naples on a bus to Pompeii.
