National Turtle Day

Did you know today is national turtle day? I didn't either at first. Imagine my surprise though when I was walking in the park with my friends this morning and we met this fellow! He was out celebrating his special day. He wasn't too thrilled about us getting close or me taking his picture - he immediately pulled his head into his shell and then decided to run away. Turtles can actually move pretty fast when they want to! I managed to get this picture quickly before he headed off.
Annnnd MyLot won't let me add the picture. It gives me a runtime error. Sorry folks, whenever it decides to behave I will post the picture!

I didn't know it was national turtle day but I am sure my mother in law knows since she loves turtles so much.

Yeah, turtles can move pretty fast sometimes, mom had some that lived in her back yard for over 45 years and now they live in a yard run by a rescue because we couldn't give them safe harbor in our yards.

Oh , I didn't know this. Good to know that , turtles day is also celebrated. Okay.. waiting for the next picture
