So, we had the discussion on here whether we preferred Chinese or Japanese cuisine. What about some other ethnic cuisines Mexican or Italian? Even though I have had some really delicious Italian food, I think I am going to have to go with Mexican. There is something about their flavor combinations, and the cilantro mixed in that I really love.

We have some authentic Italian restaurants by people who have trained in Italy. You would be surprised of some of the quality food we have here, athough I am sure "real" Italian food from Italy is better, One reason I do want to go there.

@snowy22315 I have tried some "real Italian" restaurants in the United States, they are like the real American Restaurants in Europe. It's never the real thing.

@LadyDuck Maybe you went to the wrong ones! Yes, you are right though about real American restaurants in Europe, though as well..real thing is better in my opinion however, I am not an authority, nor claim to be.

i used to think i must be some italian even if not told so. i love everything they make. not so much mexican as their stuff is usually hot and they eat weird things like beef and pig guts, etc.

Mexican food by far for me is the ultimate. We have a few really good Mexican restaurants around here I could eat it every day.

I really like the salsa at the place in town. I think they put extra cilantro in it. I am going to try that at home.

@snowy22315 I like cilantro in small doses. The people next door grow cilantro and the smell is so strong I have to close my windows. Seems they are not growing it this year for which I am grateful.

I'm definitely voting for Mexican, even though I'm a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine. But pasta isn't a favorite of mine. Maybe I haven't explored Italian food deeply enough to find alternatives to the pasta dishes.
What I like about Mexican food is the spices. Also, the dishes I like are immensely easy to fix, especially tostadas.

I like Chinese restaurants although I like nachos too. I don't really know many Mexican dishes.
