Thank you Valerie, you gave me another question to ask: how many of you where you live now cannot have pets?

I remember when I got my dog and the landlord came because he was selling the apartment and he was surprised to see her. We did not tell him. The next place we moved to we already had the dog and cat and nobody said anything and then moved to the place before and there was another two animals that lived there with their owners. We had no problem with the animals being there. When I moved where I live now I think I mentioned that I had a cat and the landlord did not mind and she was getting on in years and Sophie most of the time when he comes I put in another room, but, sometimes she is outside the door we are in.

It's good that you've been able to take your pets with you when you have moved.

@JudyEv Thanks Judy. Most of the time I just brought them with me and did not tell the landlord. I did tell my landlord where I live now because my cat was not young anymore. He also met Sophie.

Years ago I would not rent a place if I couldn't take my dog. I had her since she was 5 weeks old and was a Christmas gift for our young children.

Glad that I haven't faced such situation. I think they put such rules because there would be less disturbance, with all the barking and stuff. I think they're worried about that.

@Slayqueen That could be true. It could also be because they do not know about our attachment to our animals or think they may do damage in the apartment.

@Slayqueen So so true. They can't understand that not everyone can have human children. I loved and love my animals with all my heart.

@Hannihar oh noo.. people can't imagine how much attached we get to the animals. For them it's just a dog or a cat but for us they're family.

When ever we moved to a different place and had animals we always told the landlord we had them. I didn't want to get into a place and then being kicked out because we had animals.

@ramapo17 I was lucky on the most part that I was not thrown out because I had animals.

@Hannihar I'm so glad you could take them wherever you went. We are lucky at the moment that our landlord doesn't say anything about us having pets. I would be extremely angry if he all of a sudden cared. But then again he doesn't even care about long over due things that need done around the place so maybe he doesn't care about our pets.

@VivaLaDani13 My present landlord knew about my cat before Sophie and knows about Sophie. We did live in a place with our dog that the landlord did not know about our dog. When he sold the place and we could not afford to buy it he came and gave us a funny look. I hope your landlord will not say anything.
