Maternity shoot

Yesterday was supposed to be our maternity shoot. It was going to be an outdoor shoot with my friend who is a makeup artist. It was supposed to be in a beach setting. Makeup will be done for free. And the photography shoot will be a gift. So we won't be spending anything but just our time and effort. My husband did not want to push through with it as he does not want an outdoor shoot. He prefers it to be done just inside a studio. The photographer is a friend of our makeup artist friend and still does not have his own photo studio. And the studio one is just an easy one which we can do back home at anytime. See, we're based in a different country and I might be leaving for good once I give birth and go back to our home country for good. That's why I wanted an outdoor shoot to also capture this city which we have been based in for few years now before I leave for good. It's also a good opportunity for us to document this moment as this is our first baby. I got really upset that my husband did not want to do the shoot anymore. My makeup artist friend offered that we do the shoot without my husband. But it just doesn't feel right not having my husband there with me in the maternity shoot. I really wanted to do the shoot but I do not understand why my husband cannot sacrifice a few hours for me to do the outdoor shoot.

I really wonder why your husband isn't in the modd to do it.

Me too. I thought I'd get over it. But I'm still thinking about the lost opportunity. =(

I would do it without him then. This is supposed to be a fun thing for you. You would end up taking some by yourself anyway even if he was there because that is how most maternity shoots go. Take it from someone who takes photos outdoor photo shoots look a lot better and more natural. He doesn't sound like a very good husband if he doesn't/can't find a few hours to do them/do something that would make you happy. I have done some maternity shoots and I have never found a wife or husband who wasn't excited about taking them because they were excited to spend this time with their loved one and have this special moment to share.
