My boyfriend got so good news on Tuesday that he got the new job he applied for through the company he works for now. He applied for a maintenance job through Novo (which is the company he works for now). He applied for a position in this department 5 times before and was turned down each time. Two times were because other applicants were more qualified for the spot. Three times his boss lady stopped maintenance from taking him just because she didn't want to have to deal with finding someone new or kept making excuses like that he still needed improvement.
The last time he applied and interviewed before he was hired she got caught in one her lies. She told the people in maintenance that do the hiring that he couldn't leave because she was filling out a progress report on him and the other workers so he couldn't leave. When the people asked her to see the report on him that she had been doing she couldn't produce it. She also couldn't produce any of these "progress reports" on any of the other workers and the guy above her told them that she wasn't told to do reports on them.
The hiring people in maintenance then told her that next time he applied for the spot he would get it and there was nothing she could do about it. This lady was really starting to make my boyfriend and I both mad because she was holding him back. He was trying to better himself and get a better paying job so he can save up more each month for our future.
Either way that is all in the past because he interviewed for the job last week and got told Tuesday that he got the maintenance job. He will start sometime in the next few weeks. He will be getting a he will get a $4 raise and will be making $20 an hour for the first 4-8 months while in training and working 4 days a week. After training, he will get another $2 raise and may or may not be working night shifts Monday - Friday till a day shift spot opens. If he gets day shift he will go back to the same work schedule he has now which is one week working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the next week working Wednesday and Thursday and switching each week.
I am so excited and proud of him. In the three (almost four years) years we have been dating he went from working a job that barely paid him minimum wage and a truck that wouldn't start to a job with full benefits and great pay and a brand new truck. He has accomplished a lot and I am happy that I am his motivation to do it all.
