Each Tuesday is recycle rubbish day in my community .I throw away some expired canned foods .I know some people like shopping one week's foods from markets. These foods maybe fresh vegetables , meat or some canned foods . They put some foods in the refrigerator or some place in the kitchen for long time. I like buy some foods keep them at home. I use to check the foods expired date . I felt very sad when i throw away expired foods into the trash can . It is important to check the expired food is good for body health and keep nutrition from the foods .

I know that canned food lasts longer than the dates. They are usually removed from stores around here and donated to a surplus store that sells old goods that are still eddible for a fraction of cost.
Best By, Best if Used By, and Use By dates on commercially canned foods sold in the United States are not food safety dates. Provided voluntarily by manufacturers, they are an indication of how long products are likely to remain at peak quality.

I agree with you. Problem is I have not organize the food and canned food yet. It would be better to catgorize into the years or months. Then you will know which batch of food is going to expire, either give away to your relatives or the poor rather than feeding the dump truck
