Curing a toddler's addiction to smartphones.

We warned my sister that it is not the wisest thing to do, but she won't listen. My nephew will throw tantrums around if we take his tablet/smartphone away now. What's more my nephew is now sleeping at ten in the evening! I think we should pay for a therapy to cure the addiction.

The kid doesn't need therapy, he just needs to be told no. He'll be upset for a little while but it wont be the end of the world.

Thanks! My sister just needs to be a bit firmer to her son.

He is three year old and yes, the boy is the only child so there is a tendency for others to spoil him.

@Mamerto32 if he has no one to play with, then that usually happens - watching tv and using a tablet or cellphone.

@hereandthere time to introduce our boy to the neighborhood children. Or I think I'll find a good daycare center. And we took him to the park lately and he is socializing well.

I could cure it at no charge. Take away all electronic devices. Period. If they don't, they will pay for it later when the child can't relate to others, has no social skills, and doesn't respect authority of any kind.

Thanks for the tip, just yesterday we took our nephew to a local park to get some fresh air. He is also making friends there :)

No therapy, just take it away. He might throw a massive tantrum, but he will get over it. If he throws a tantrum, I'd take him somewhere to have his fit. He can't leave that area while throwing one. Then ignore. Also keep it out of his sight for a while.
