There is nothing like them anywhere else in the world. West Virginia chili hot dogs are soooooo good. If you ever get to West Virginia, you must have TWO things.
A northern West Virginia chili hot dog. Clarksburg has the best. The other thing: Pepperoni rolls. Also in Clarksburg.
I make pepperoni rolls for us all the time. My kids love them, as do I. My granddaughter married a young man from West Virginia also. So, he knows how to make chili hot dogs and pepperoni rolls.
I’m hoping to go to West Virginia and visit a couple of my remaining cousins. I’ve been in touch with one of them recently and they want me to come. It’s about 5 ½ hours to go there but it’s a very beautiful drive.
My son said we might go this coming fall.
We had planned to go last fall and there was a terrible flood in West Virginia that cancelled our plans.
Chili hot dogs and pepperoni rolls from the bakery are two things I really miss about West Virginia. Even though I make both of them myself, I like getting them there.
The last time I was there with my daughter, we stopped and got a dozen hot dogs on our way out of town. Her husband was with us also and we asked him if he wanted one. He said “no.”
So, my daughter was driving and I was in the front passenger seat and we were talking and eating hot dogs. He was in the back seat chillaxing for a while. Later he asked for a hot dog and we said:
“Sorry, they’re all gone!” We had eaten all of them. He said: “What?” We had a good laugh about it.
But, we DID eat them all. He didn’t get one of them. And by then, we were already way out of town.
I’m laughing now, just thinking about it.
So, I’m making some West Virginia hot dog chili first thing in the morning for the cook-out tomorrow. YUM!! My daughter AND her husband will be here.

@Jdaw1985 You really need to avoid hot dogs then. Listen to your doctor.

Follow the doctor's orders. Most hot dogs are really not that healthy as a food choice. I have a friend, who eats hot dogs all the time. Everyone knows what his favorite food is.
I used to live in Winston-Salem NC.

What's you favorite Indian food? We have a few Indian restaurants around here that I would like to try but I never know what to order when I go to a new restaurant.

Thinking back, I don't know how we ate them all, but we did.

I'm sure you would like the taste of these chili hot dogs. I know that they are not the healthiest food choice, but I only prepare them and eat them maybe three or four times a year.

Hot dogs are not the healthiest food choice a person can make. However, they taste really good.

Yes, I learned how to make bread many years ago. But, sometimes I use dough that I purchase from the grocery store. It works when I'm in a hurry.
