It Fell and Was Ran Over

Last Saturday, while I was seated at the door portion of the jeepney going to the hospital to have my follow-up check-up , the folded fan that I used and was in my lap suddenly fell out of the jeepney.
I hesitated to hail the jeepney to stop because it was fast and the highway is a busy street with many cars following in the street. Besides, it was an inexpensive folding fan.
Though , I was sad because it was a remembrance to me by our audit head when she went to China.
When I went back home riding another jeepney again , I looked at that particular busy street and saw my fan still in the middle of the road. But it was now opened and was crushed . Actually , I saw two motorcycles ran over it.
I cannot do anything anymore to save it.
It’s so useful to me since I always use it, as you can see in the picture when we went to the farm of a high school batchmate.
Would you hail the jeepney if you were in my place, to get it in the middle of a street with many cars passing by on all parts of the road?

@SIMPLYD Another proof that the title is the more important thing in a discussion.
We do not use these fans here. I have a decorative one that I bought in Spain where they are sold for tourists. I do not know if there is a difference between a Chinese and a Spanish fan though.

@topffer Yes. It was a catchy title. I didn't even tag it as fan because I know it's a give away as to what fell.
I think you can differentiate the two because a Chinese fan has letters in Chinese while a Spanish fan I think has lots of lace?
I know, you don't need fan there because it's always a cold weather there.

No, I won't... not for a fan. For something important, perhaps, I will.

I know I can just buy something like that, than risk going down the busy street to pick it up. And besides, it's so hot outside and I have to walk a bit of distance if ever, because the jeepney is so fast.
This fan is from China too. You have beautiful silk fans.

No I guess I would not make the jeepney stop as it is too dangerous to do so.
Sorry this happened to you as I know it was sentimental gift for you.

Oh, there you go. You have been missing here for weeks. What kept you busy?
Yeah, I really have actually 3 folding fan but they're small and don't produce much air unlike that one which is big. So, I went to the Korean store and bought one like that.

@sunrisefan Yes, that's what I was thinking what's keeping you busy. Very indisposable person kasi.
Thousand of fans! Wow!
I am scared of that. It might get accidentally entangled in my hair.

Not if the fan was in a crushed condition. I am famous for leaving umbrellas, goggles and such in stores and never get to retrieve them.

I think no one would risk her life just for a fan. Besides, the driver would find it ridiculous when I hail him to stop, only to know that it's just a fan I dropped.
I got saddened that I saw it being run over by motorcycles.
If I have just lost it, i wouldn't be as sad.

Yes, it's the best decision lest, it might put my life in risk. Anyway, I always see the giver of that, but didn't tell her about it. I just bought a similar fan.
Thank you for liking the picture. That's some of us high school batchmates waiting for the foods to be served. That was in the middle of the farm and the electric fans are near the dining tables, so I was flushed from sweating. ha ha ha
