The Days Where Writers Build Stronger Connections Seems Faded

There was a time when writers were more connected. There seemed to be a lot of friendly writers about 5 years ago. Some who ventured off to discover by traveling. There were quite a few who appeared "to be compassionate." Some writing novels. Now it appears as though some aren't friendly at all. A lot of grumpy ones lurking about. On some sites there was set ups where writers can build better friendships through their writings. Of course times are forever changing and so do people. Now there's a lot of competition and when there's too much. There will be some who will behave quite dysfunctional. "Writing should be rewarding." There shouldn't be any stress but there appears to be some form of overly competitiveness going on. Even writers must take the necessary breaks. Building connections is important. Some may perceive connections as far from friendship. Friendships are connections and for so many they're virtually connected. Some may lose their motivation when dealing with so many issues related to writing. Writing is suppose to be fun and not stressful. Some may think that making it more difficult for writers will cause writers to give up on their craft but no writer should. If "the right connections" are put together then there can be numerous issues to deal with. "Connections are Friendships and are Important." By: Tanikka Paulk

I haven't noticed unfriendly writers. Writing for me is relaxing and I love blogging as I find many friends in the writing.

I'm with you. You're one of the people I consider an "internet friend." We could even disagree about something (not 'Niners v. Packers any more, as the 'Niners will be rebuilding for awhile) and it wouldn't be taken "personally." I think the people on MyLot are as friendly as any I've encountered.

@TheHorse I agree, they are. You mean the Pack has a good chance of beating the niners this year? That is if we play them. I haven't looked at the schedule yet for this year and it's almost time for pre-season.

I agree it is important to build up connections. I think the reason writing has become stressful is, like you said, partly because of all the competition. I also believe that here online there are people looking to make their fortune and are stressed when they find that it isn't easy.

I'm not involved in any writing sites where there's "competition."

@TheHorse you don't have to be. If there is someone on there that believes that they themselves have to be better than everyone else then they perceive themselves as being in competition.

Yes, Writing is supposed to be Fun and not stressful. The problem is many times now the publishers demand so much on a person that is can be hard. And often times when a person wants to Write something about themselves or self help since no one is interested it often throws a wrench and then the writings will begin to show it like it was not really written by someone who cared enough to keep us entertained.

I haven't noticed a decline in friendliness on writing sites over the past few years.

I agree with what you say regarding writing and writers these days.
