I just booked our Motel 6 stay. In two weeks I will have the energy to drive hubby, Sally dog and me West. Sally and I made this trip not that long ago but this time hubby is going. I also decided to do it or kick my own rump. What am I talking about in this last sentence? I called the sister that is in charge of my Mom and requested that she drive Mom to a convenient Mc D's so that we all can meet and greet. That fast food joint is right on the highway heading back home. Perfect. Sister said she would meet us then said that she had just enjoyed an hour long discussion with Mom- Mom was determined that insert my daughter's name- is who was raised on the Farm and is her daughter. My sister said no and finally just walked away from the "disagreement." Dementia gives the caregiver no rest. Nada. So I will do it. I will participate in West side trails and a poetry reading and finally, a meet and greet with the Mom who possibly will not know me and for sure will not remember that I ever met with her for a last time. What will be will be.

@imperfet I write poetry. I used to live in the city that we will visit and participated in poetry readings so this time around my hubby and I will again read our work and listen to others read theirs. Should be fun.

I am glad you are going, and taking hubby. We do what we can for our parents even as they slip away from us.

Ugh! Awful to think about. At least you know what to expect and it won't come as a big surprise.

@chrissbergstrom You are welcome to visit with us. November is a problem time for the mountain passes. Cold and horrid roads start to set in around that time.
