So many apples to taste.

June 3, 2017 12:29am CST
I love apples and something told me to try a new one today. We got one apple since I never had it before. Well, this apple is better than the others. It' called Fiji and I will be buying more of these. The only problem is they ar huge and one will be more than I can eat. I hate brown apple when they sit for a while. What is your favorite apple?

Do you know how many different kinds of apples there are? A village in the south of Germany had an apple festival and displayed the 60 (!) different kinds they grow.

That sounds like fun! I'd be tempted to get one of every apple and do a taste-test at home. Did they press apples for cider at the festival?

@Genipher Not only at the festival. Apples are made into juice, cider and schnapps.

I love Granny Smith apples they are very sour and make a great homemade apple sauce.

Yeah the apples I buy now are nothing like the ripe juicy apples we could get when I was young.

Any talk on apples reminds me of this saying- AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY. Apple is rich with potassium which works on the artery of the heart. And as you take care of your heart, you take care of your brain. Very rich with fibre. I prefer the brown apple more because of my desire to consume the phytochemical called Lycopene from it. This lycopene is very much needed for the health of the prostate.
