This is both to earn extra funds, and to gain visibility. As an aspiring author someone suggested that doing content writing could help me get published. Any websites you know where I could do freelance content writing?

Yes, iWriter is the best website for writers. I found it a year ago and already made good income from it. If anybody needs guidance on iWriter then they can view this guide:
If you are searching for an online job to make money quickly without any investment then Content or Article Writing Jobs would be a perfect method to start.

HI Mamerto! I have been blogging for almost a year now. And because of my involvement in blogging I have met different bloggers. Some of these bloggers really look for someone who can write for their blogs. I just haven't tried it yet. Do you have a blog?

Mamerto, from one fellow author to another, your best bet would be to try short stories into literary journals and magazines. Free content online wouldn't work to get published credits, unless it's nonfiction. You don't necessary need PCs for your bio, when you ready to query your novel. Have you written your book and edited it? Has it been read by others for feedback?

Thanks for the tip! I do have a book and currently I'm waiting for a reply from the publishers. For now I'm working for my visibility and sending stories to online magazine is a great idea!

@Mamerto32 That's good. But I think you'll be better off getting an agent to help you out in the long run. You're welcome. Make sure you have a cover sheet for magazine submissions. Try to enter contests too.
