Texting is a boon to new day's man.You can catch hold of the person far away.You can text while travelling or doing other things.An easiest way of connecting to your near an dear ones.I find it more convenient than calling somebody.

@vandana3 Texting a person we know is convenient I agree. Many a times it better as we can speak our mind better by text.That is how we are made that is why we have whatsapp.

I do not like to text on my phone because I type very slow so like to stay away from it.
