I don't know that I have been bullying myself until I learned about positive affirmations

There have been times that other people will say that I can do this or I can do that, but I will tell myself "I can't." Then, I will give so many reasons why I cannot do a certain thing. I feel so weak whenever I tell that to myself but during those times, I was not aware that whenever I say that "I cannot," I am limiting myself to do great things. But after I got exposed to positive affirmations, I realized that I should pay attention to those negative vibes surrounding me. Instead of bullying or thinking negative things about me, I should replace it with positive and good ones. Were you once a bully?

I fight myself when I notice that I am being negative, in my outlook of life. I guess, I survived those down times in my life by being positive and believing that God is there to help me.

@annierose Thank you. I think it's my faith in God that really helped me. I prayed a lot for strength that's why.

I don't think I was. Too many people were telling me I couldn't that I made a concerted effort to prove them all wrong. I'm glad you stopped bullying yourself.

@just4him And sometimes at my age right now, there are still instances that I think I am already matured, but seems to be not yet.

I think you're not the only one who's limiting yourself to achieve certain things. It's lack of self-confidence. I sometimes think that way too.

@rachz_kisses I must agree. I have inferiority complex. I were bullied a lot because I look different from most people in our place.

@rachz_kisses Yes, I agree with you. Challenging ourselves once in a while is a good idea to become a better version of ourselves.

@annierose Sorry to hear that. I also had my share of being bullied, hence, the reason I'm not confident in facing people... or talk in front of a crowd. But it's a challenge though. I have to have that mindset that if I don't this, I'll be the loser and not them. Sounds like a self-motivation.

Positive talking with ourself is most important. There is a saying that what we think about ourself we become.

@Bodyandbrain It is so easy to be more negative than positive.

@Bodyandbrain That is true. It is for that reason we should always be careful of what we are thinking.

@annierose absolutely! Positive thinking should be a way of life. Negative thinking and talking bring negative things in our lives.

I am not conscious of bullying myself, but I think I probably do. Oftentimes we are our own harshest critics.

@snowy22315 I agree with you. We should be always conscious if we are already making ourselves a victim.

I'm a realist. I don't consider it "bullying" to say I can't sing well, because it's the truth.

@FourWalls Maybe if it is something that is out of our dream, then we cannot do anything about it.

@shivamani10 That is great! Is there someone who taught you about not bullying yourself or it is something you have been doing naturally.

Maybe I am but not just giving attention to this. Sometimes negative is pulling us back but you are right, we should go positive and avoid the phrase "I can't do it."

@ilocosboy I am learning not to back out easily because of fear or laziness. It is quite difficult but not impossible to do.
