Blindness

I wonder all the time what it'd be like to have a day to be blind. I wonder what is seen when there is nothing to be seen. I don't quite believe it to be black, but you have to wonder, really. I've done a little bit of research, and know that people born blind don't see with pictures and have no real way to describe what they 'see' (because there is nothing to describe) and that people that go blind later in life describe it as the lack of the picture. Perhapse it is black, I'm not sure. Expressions, explanations, anyone?

I have been legally blind for a while now and i see a small amount of color. Mainly I see a lot of light and shadow. Too much light and there is nothing to be seen but white light all around me. Too much dark and everything is pitch black. If you have been practicing like I have (for my whole life) then you would be able to "see" by touch. Most people can do it already by knowing simple shapes and warming comforts that you feel from birth. There is no real explaination except to try it for yourself. Have a person you trust blindfold you and then go for it. As long as you have a person you trust around you they aren't going to let you fall on your face or let anything bad happen to you.

I think that blindness is one of the most ills I hate...It would be really difficult for me if I could see anything...and I'm a bit afraid 'cause in a too long future I could become blind... Maybe they see just shadows...I dunno and I'm afraid to know..
