Mom wouldn't let me myLot very much yesterday!

Mom, aka Mother Nature that is. She was in control of the satellite internet and decided that I spend too much time here so she cut me off!
There are some rainy days where I have perfect HughesNet Satellite Internet and then other day like yesterday when I have no internet at all.
When I had this installed I asked the guy if it would go out a lot when it rained- he lied, he said no. Funny that satellite TV was fine, but satellite internet was a no-show.
I was able to get in for a few minuets here and there but mostly Mom kept me at bay! We are fogged in right now but internet is fine....go figure!
And...please don't tell me I need a different IP - this is my only option so I learn to deal with it. I am happy that most of the time it works 100%!

@TiarasOceanView Just got back from the grocery store - we were waiting for the fog to lift! Now I can enjoy the rest of the day!

Nothing else available so I live with it. Unfortunately, when it rains and goes out is when I need to check the weather to see if bad stuff is coming.

Every once in a while Mother Nature flexes her muscles to show technology can't conquer her.

She is in charge when it comes to that I guess. She's being nice today so I'll forgive her.

There is always something to do, but I have a lot to do online with writing for the blog, etc.

Now that is one thing we don't have to bother with concerning our Internet Provider , Windstream. It never goes off during rain or heavy rain. It may go down for a couple of minutes now and then, but overall it is a good provider.

I have Century Link and I go through the same problem with the service when the weather is bad out and and it can be very frustrating when you want to do something online. I think they are supposed to say no because any time we have had satellite service it would happen no matter what company we used. I think it is something nobody really has control over. At least it isn't something that happens all the time.

I think you are right - we have had satellite for almost 20 years, livened in diff states, etc. and when it rains it is 'iffy'. I wish they had cable in our area, but no such luck, we're in the boonies.

it can be aggravating can't it... mother nature can confound all our super hi tech technology... but I'm glad you've got it back today...

Our power very seldom goes out and when it does it's back fast, we are just a few miles from our electric co-op main office and get good service.

It can be a pain when the Internet decides to act up. From time to time here we have issues especially on the weekends when it seems like everyone is on. Would be nice if in a perfect world everything always worked right. Huh?
