LOVE VS. TECHNOLOGY! LET THE WAR BEGIN!

Imagine that you are headed off to a lonely island (say for a vacation). What are the five things that you would want to carry with you? Your favorite book (or your kindle rather), your mobile phone (obviously), internet connection (duh!), your favorite video game, your favorite series etc. But have you ever heard anyone answering ‘a human’? Well no, because technically human beings ARE NOT things. But I am pretty sure no one even thinks of spending time on a lonely island with a beloved one rather than spending time with the ever consuming technology.
Yes, that is the sad irony of the human nature. We tend to ignore whatever is available for us either readily or in abundance. If you are wondering what might actually fall in this list, think of simple things like: air, water, love, friendship etc. Why do we run after money throughout our lives? It is the simplest fact of all. It’s merely because we never feel we’ll accumulate money in abundance, EVER; even though in reality, we might actually be doing well for ourselves!
In today’s world, we are filled with too many options and too little quality time for us to reflect upon our human emotions. People while away their time watching endless political thrillers, romantic comedies and whatnot on their laptops and mobile phones. But when it comes to relationships, all they believe in are ‘one-night-stands’ and ‘tinder’. This is what human life has been reduced to! It was relationships, in which we were supposed to invest our quality time to strengthen them with unconditional love and endless efforts. Instead, we invest our hard earned TIME AND MONEY into ‘x’ no. of technological inventions which just eat up more into our quality time, until we are left with none but an excuse that ‘our’ relationships didn’t work out!
We, as humans, have to understand that technology can’t fill up our loneliness forever. Sure, it can help us entertain ourselves for some time; but in the long run, it can only FOOL US! Two of my friends suggested to me a month ago, this series called ‘Black Mirror’ which is a satirical British science fiction and I watched it (this is the extent to which technology has penetrated even into my life). However, for those of you who still haven’t got a chance to watch it or have procrastinated the action of watching it OR didn’t know such a series existed till the time I mentioned about it in this article, PLEASE DO WATCH IT! You’ll get to know about the evil effects of technology in the long run.
I have so many friends who are not interested in relationships and I completely buy that point. But they have FRIENDS, PARENTS with whom they love to share their day-to-day thoughts and their emotions. There are those people too who talk to their pets in order to share what they are feeling on a particular day. All these are healthy relationships and bring out that human factor in us. These relationships are essential for our survival and well-being.
All I want to say is that I don’t consider technology as our enemy. Sure, it has made our lives easier. Sure, it has brought convenience to our doorstep and to our devices. However, technology replacing humans is a deep matter of concern! Over reliance on technology will lead us to our doom someday!
This is where my thoughts and my time dedicated to this article, both end. It’s time I switch off my laptop and head off to my comfort zone i.e. with my beloved one. It’s time to enjoy my dinner, while sitting in front of a switched off TV and having a real life conversation!

Yes I agree with you. But as we speak that number of people who are dependent on e-gadgets is rising exponentially.
