The bus broke down.

The bus into Colombo broke down at 7.30 this morning, just half an hour short of its destination. A collective sigh rolled back along the rows of passengers as they realised what had happened and some of them got off. Some walked away in search of another means of transport to get them to work and some installed themselves at tables under a tree at a roadside cafe. I was in no great hurry so I joined them under the trees and at nine o'clock another bus came along and here I am in Colombo, hot and sweaty in an air conditioned internet cafe.
