Yes, they do have lead ,at least the ones coming from China.. I have not heard of anyone dying from it.

I think maybe with everything else when something big comes out they tend to find things wrong with it and makes everyone worry about it. I don't know...

I haven't heard about them carrying lead. The only thing I heard is the parts come off so supervision is required. My children are allowed to play with theirs in the bedrooms but they have to pay attention if a piece comes off because I also have a 15 month old who puts things in his mouth.

I have also heard about the parts coming off, as long as they are aware of pieces coming off and not put them in their mouth, then maybe it will be ok.

I refused to buy any of this for my son as he has so many toys and they are almost every where in the house. What my son did was that after watching something on youtube, he used his lego pieces and put them together to make his own spinner.

That is a very good idea about creating one with Legos, I will have to have my son research that and see what it's like.
