The lesser of the available evils

I can’t believe it’s election day here and I still don’t know who to vote for! We have received an unprecedented number of propaganda leaflets but they mostly seem to reiterate the same points and not expand on any other areas.
Last night in desperation I resorted to the BBC’s guide to the party manifestos, where you can compare the key points proposed by the different parties. We only have four candidates, and essentially two of those have no hope of winning. But in any case after comparing the key points of their various election campaigns I concluded that I don’t agree with any of them! It’s going to be a case of choosing the lesser of the two main evils I think.

The same happened for me for our presidential and local elections. I voted for "the lesser of the two evils" (we have only two canditates at the second tour here), and finally it is not bad, I am satisfied by my mayor and my president for the moment.

I was not able to vote this time as I was fixing up my papers.
But I thought of voting for the lesser of three evils as the others were not very good at all.
They are still causing a load of trouble and they have no idea how to deal with Europe and did not want to either yikes.
So the lesser of three evils has been much better than the other two.
I have seen the Election thing over there today and a lot of British people who live here are very worried how its likely to affect them.

I think many times it is the lesser of two evils.

I'm looking forward to waking up to the shock result tomorrow morning. Whoever gets in, it will be a shock, for someone, somewhere.

I think a lot of people here feel the same way, especially in light of the recent terror attacks. I will be voting when I finish work today - I must admit I will be glad when this is all done and dusted as a bit fed up with it all over the news!

I think you have to decide which candidate is going to be better for the country in the long run. Even if you don't agree fully with a candidate, you might be able to find common ground on key issues. There are no perfect candidates, because they are human. Maybe, when it comes to humans, the lesser of two evils is as good as it gets.

Funny it was like that over here in the USA too for this election for a lot of people.

Good luck with your voting, Fleur! I totally understand how difficult it can be when you have no one you believe to be the "best" candidate to vote for! Choosing the lesser of the evils is not necessarily the best way to vote, either.

Oh just like us here, we resort to choose the lesser evil and so Duterte wins the presidential race.
