Oy a long day

That's how I feel right now.. An Exhalation of "oy."
Today has been somewhat of a long day. I am really quite ready for it to be Friday and I sincerely hope that I won't have any more of this weeks of overnight hours.
I left work at 5 and went to sleep as soon as I got in. I then set an alarm to wake myself up about twenty minutes before the Comey Hearing. Now I didn't actually watch all of it (I missed a lot from the noon hour portion) but I did get the gist of most of it.
I haven't followed the news after it either. I went back to sleep at 1 and managed to sleep for about an hour.
I've not been feeling very well the past few days and so my sleep hasn't been the best either.
Last night, had I only came in an hour earlier, I would have been able to finish my portion of duties and go home at 1 am. Of course, I didn't know that I would be finished so soon... The store has to be secured by 1 am. I intend to go in early on Friday (our next truck) and hopefully be able to leave at 1 am.
My intention is to go home and go to sleep.
I work tonight as well, with my manager. I am thinking on whether or not to bring up that I would prefer doing days, and work something out where I am able to help them more, albeit during the daytime hours.
We shall see.
For now, I have had my supper (left overs) and am just relaxing here, on youtube, and on reddit.
I am watching a documentary on dog meat of all things.
Enjoy your day..

I was so quickly to sleep this morning, that it seemed as if I had just closed my eyes when my alarm went off.
Of course it was only three and a half hours after I had laid my head down to begin with.
Enjoy your rest. 10 or 11 pm is normally when I would be going to sleep.

@TiarasOceanView Me too. I can't wait until Sunday Morning. I only have two more days this week. I've not been sleeping well. Probably what amounts to 4 1/2 hours each day. Part of it's my own fault as I refuse to sleep all day. I get up when I normally do at 9:30 Am (so have slept for about four hours from the time I get off work and get home) and then take a nap sometime mid day.

I made an error in my discussion, or maybe wishful thinking. Saturday is my last work day for the week. Am hoping that I can convince my manager to let stay on days.. Nights just kill me anymore.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep anymore. Will just have some coffee at work.

If you prefer days, I'd mention it. Most they can say is "sorry but.. "

I've been working days all this month and it's been great. There's so many things you can get done without having to lose sleep because you've had to wake up early or go to bed late for appointments. Plus, I mean, the sun!
I kid you not, and I also realize how sad this is, before I started working days I hadn't properly seen the sun in months.

This week of third shift has really thrown me for a loop. I've done about a month of daytime and throwing a week (four work days) of night into the mix...
IT doesn't help that negative nancy was bending my ear last night..

I want to see the Comey testimony too. But I didn't get to see it. I got to hear about some of it yesterday afternoon.

Have you tried going to one of our national news outlets and seeing if you can't find it there?

@JESSY3236 Well let me know if you do get a chance to see it. I know they've covered enough snippets of it since it's happened...

@ScribbledAdNauseum I might do that when I get enough time to see it.

I am only getting about four and a half hours each day. I refuse to ruin my sleep schedule so I get off work at 5 am, it takes 8 minutes to get home, five minutes to get ready to sleep, and well I don't get a very calming sleep...
My last day for this week is Saturday. I am hoping to be able to get done with my tasks and go home early but I sort of doubt they'll allow it, the more I think on it. Even if I do get a considerable amount done, there will be more to be done and my managers will want as much as could be done by 5 am... Might even ask me to stay but I'll refuse.

@ScribbledAdNauseum You have a heavy schedule. I've worked all shifts at one time or another.

Would be nice if you can have a free day just for relax yourself, stay awake until 1 am doesn't sound like a very good thing.
