I was hoping to start a nice day with my cup of tea and a handful of cookies. But just after a few hours i had an argument with my father over a petty matter. Now i am really feeling disgusted.Sometimes it really becomes difficult to talk to them respectfully as they don't even try to understand your problem. All they tell you is what they want you to do. Sometimes it is hard to sacrifice your desires to fulfil the dream of your parents. You just can't make everyone happy. So what is more important? My happiness? Or my parents? Should i try ro achieve my goals or try to fulfil their's?l am confused. What would you do in this situation?

Follow your heart. Pursue your dreams and when the time is right please try and explain what you feel to your parents. I am sure they will understand. Stay calm .don't be distracted by such disagreements. Hope you have a great day ahead. Take care

I have tried that. But its really hard to make them understand this. They always feel that i am disrespecting them by not doing what they want me to do.

Sometimes the one who hurts you more are the person whom you love most...I believe that most parents are just protective that sometimes they tend to forget that they are already controlling their kids..It is really hard to argue with parents and what I did is to prove them that I can still be the best daughter even if I did it my way

Controlling children is the k at some point? of time. But after you reach adulthood it is not necessary, rather it becomes a torture for children.

Just stay calm, avoid arguments. Talk to them, there is nothing which can't be sorted out

I don't know how old you are, if you are a teen you should listen to your father, if you are an adult you should be out on your own with a job that makes enough money to pay for your room and board. Life is supposed to be fun and humans should be happy but it takes time and planning so do what you think you should do to get to that place.

I understand perfectly but try to take a deep breathe and avoid having arguments. After some time parents calm down.

I'm so sorry. Parents need our respect, but you have to follow your dreams. Hope you can reach a compromise.

It's not easy. We are taught to respect our parents but we need to follow our own dreams as well.
