Peanut butter cornflake cookies!!!!!!!

OMG, I found my new favorite broke food! I came across this recipe on pinterest as I was searching for no bake cookies. I tried this last night and they were so delicious, they didn't last long in my house. These goodies only take 5 ingredients: cornflakes, sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup (I used pancake syrup in this instance) and just a hint of vanilla. I say broke food, because they are all cheap ingredients. Google the recipe and try em out! Yum.

That sucks, but that's what holds the cookies together. To good health, though!

@CookieMonster46 yup, otherwise it would just be simply a bowl of cereal and peanut butter lol

peanut butter seems expensive to me. I would love those. This recipe reminds me of the very first thing I learned to cook as a young girl. They were squares with the same ingredients (plus rice krispies mixed in too). They were pressed into a pan and topped with a boiled brown sugar/cream icing. I still make them.

Lol, one of the first recipes I learned to make was marshmallow rice Krispy treats too. Actually here in Utah, a small jar of peanut butter runs abou $1.29, however, dollar tree carries peanut butter too.

@librarygeek1980 Here a kg of peanut butter often costs $6.00. It does go on sale for half that, so I keep my open because I love peanut butter. I usually buy 2kg jars so maybe that is why it seems expensive to me.

I'm pretty sure it would, I have seen it done with golden grahams, though about trying it with crunched up tortilla chips, or popcorn.

@librarygeek1980 lol broke food. Never heard that term before. They do look nice but not sure I would like them. ONLY because of the peanut butter. I love peanut butter but not mixed with anything else. But I would still try these!

Broke food: meaning you're mac and cheese, ketchup sandwiches broke. Lol. These are a gotta try, you can reduce the amount of peanut butter, they have a crispy, chewy texture

Ooh! I will definitely try this! Of course I'll have to substitute some of the ingredients for less sugary ones, but they sound and look really good!
