How to convince mom ?

There are some opportunities which I find worthy for me. I think I should fill them to learn some experience as being a youth and contribute to the world. For that, it requires some documents like passport and visas. I want to apply for passport now but the problem is that my parents are really too scare of me letting go in any other country alone as they never let me go anywhere alone. We haven't experienced any foreign trip yet. We have went to some places in our country too. I've been to another city alone but only the exam purpose because the centre of exam was in that city. So, yesterday and also many times earlier, i talked about going to abroad for some opportunities which will be worthy for me to my mom. She jokingly ignored me but when I told her I am going to apply for passport, she got really scared and told me not to. She told me that the world is very bad (btw I'm matured enough to understand between good and bad). I can't let you go away from my eyes. It was only a matter of 3-5 days but she keeps on refusing me. She also got angry because she thinks too much. There are some of my friends all over the world who travel to different country and nothing happens to them. I really don't understand how to convince her. I already told her about everything I'll be doing there and what is it about, how everything will go but she always listens to me and then simply ignores it. Now I think that I shouldn't ask her for anything and do what is important and right for me because I know that she will never let me go.

I don't feel you have to be immediately transmitted to a foreign country to do world some good! Have no idea at what stage of studies you are, but going far in little steps is a good idea. I was about to suggest graduating in some other city.... but now I won't. Even though your intentions are deadly clear, tell your mom that a passport is lot more than a document which sends people packing for abroad. It serves as an identity proof and is a must have.

@_ge_ez_ Get them made theirs, if they don't have it already. Did you ever think of taking them along with you...?

Oh no, that's the problem I think you can get her counselling by your friends' parents who have gone abroad and your relatives etc

@ShifaLK I wish I had any but no one in my friends talk about creativity, going abroad, learning something new. They all just want to talk sh*t everyday, give exams at the end of the session and get passed. that's all. None of my relatives went abroad except few people from my mother's family but they are always busy kind of people so it's hard to contact them only to convince my mom. My life is like, I want to do so much in this less time but I cannot see any way ahead who support me in my work. Family is like, get a govt job and look for a family and die like every man but I'm not one of them. I really want to work for the better future.

A mother never wants her child to be part ways, even though you are mature. You know right from wrong, but there are still dangerous people. Maybe one step at a time. Good luck!

Yes, that's what I'm doing. It's hard to convince her for even a single thing. Instead of telling her my plans directly, I'm trying to go through step by step because then it would be easy to build trust.

If you have your own job to fund your trips, then go for it.

I don't have any job but I do have my scholarship money which is mine. So, that's why I can go for it but I also don't want my parents to get angry.

@_ge_ez_ And you can afford to go to other countries with that money while studying? I think it would be better if you postponed going to another country until after you graduate. Also, it could make your parents proud if you worked abroad for them, if you want to.

Yes you're? right. We can't do anything for it but we can do whatever is good for us. If I will always think about parent's permission before going to do any work then it'll never be going to happen so it's better to hurt them a little by taking bold decisions because after sometimes they'll accept you and welcome your decision since we all are their child.
