I really miss her so much. So today in honor of her special day I cooked her favorite meal and we shared our memories of her. It has been a sad day but a good one. Life sure has changed a lot since she left us. So many times I wish that I could just hug her one more time. There is so many things that I would like to talk to her about. She was the rock of our family. She held us all to get her. Once she was gone things changed greatly. The home we had is no longer there. The family we once had has been divided. It really is sad but today I remember her with happiness with all the awesome memories I have. She really was the best mom ever and I was blessed to have such a great childhood and the most wonderful parents.

Yes Laurel I know you miss her.
It is so fitting that you keep her memory alive with all you do there.
Sorry about your family being split, but may I say that God forbid my Mom goes, but when that day comes, I have no other family. My sisters are so cruel, so I understand that part of it. The bridges are burned now and there is no going back.

How sweet to honor your mom's special day by cooking her favorite meal and sharing memories of her. I'm sure she's looking down from Heaven being so proud of you and your wonderful family.
My mother has been gone for so many years. It breaks my heart that she isn't here to see what's become of us. I miss her dearly. She was my best friend.

I know that feeling all too well. My grandmother was like that, she kept our family together. Her bday will be on the 15. She has been gone a long time. I still miss her.

That's great that you have such good memories of your mom. Mine recently unfriended me on Facebook (due to my hatred of her idol Trump) and I recently had a nightmare where I was, again, not the favorite daughter and excluded from something. (I forget what) We have a very fraught relationship and it even haunts me in my sleep!

That is sad. Hard to understand how she could feel so strongly for Trump that she would do that. It would be very hurtful.

My Mom passed away 10 years ago. She was also the glue in our family. She made every holiday so special and I think about that often. She was a giving person who thought about others first before herself. She was outgoing and talkative, friendly, and people gravitated to her warmth. I also miss her, but know she is in a better place and is no longer suffering here on earth. I can very much relate to everything you say. God Bless

that sounds like me and my grandpa, things were just not the same after we lost him, he really left a hole. I am sorry for your loss, no matter how long ago it was.

You must really love your mother. It is good that you have taken time to mention her in this discussion. In spite of the division in your family I hope you get to share your feelings about your mother with your other family members. Yea, my mom would be 92 by now. It's been 22 years since my beloved mother passed.

I feel your pain of the loss of your mother. The best thing to do is to remember her words of wisdom and carry on her mission to make people around you better.
