Summer Cold

I woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, a headache, and pressure behind my eyes. I felt bad all day and kept having sneeze attacks all during the day. As soon as I got home last night I took some Nyquil and laid down to go to sleep. My boyfriend came into the room and asked me if I had made him his sandwiches for work the next day because I told him on the ride home that I would make them. Well by the time I got home, took the Nyquil, and laid down I had already forgotten so he told me to just try and sleep and he would make them. I don't remember when he came back into the room to go to bed because I was already knocked out.
This morning I woke up and couldn't breathe through my nose because all the mucus had dried and hardened up and I was all stopped up. I was eventually able to breathe but then my nose just ran after that and my head still hurts. I have been taking the medicine every four hours like it says too and drinking tons of water.
I really wanted to take a nap earlier today but the man from the extension service finally called me back after a month of not returning any of my phone calls or emails. He told me he was on the road and would was now heading back to the office and would call me back when he got there...... Well, that was over two hours ago and now that it is a few minutes from 5 o'clock I don't see him calling me back. I am really getting tired of this guy. Especially since he only called me back because my supervisor went over his head to his boss and complained about him not returning any of the calls or emails after saying he would partner with us for events but then stonewalled us for a month.
I just hope I feel better before the event at the Farmer's market tomorrow. At least all I have to do is meet the woman, help set up, and take pictures of the event.

No. I just go straight for the Nyquil since it works best for me. My friend takes the natural route and she still gets pretty bad colds when doing it. Plus the stuff and teas she makes taste terrible so it doesn't seem worth it.

@CaseyRoss9966 Haha :) I agree with that :) Concoctions do taste bitter or spicy sometimes ... but a little Honey or Jaggery does the trick to take it a notch down right? Even Licorice ... it is sweet and also helps with cold. If you catch it early and have Peppermint EO handy, edible variant, you can add a drop or two in a glass of warm water and have it... it helps a great deal even during the course but had early it can prevent onset ... For Sore Throat, Saline Gargle with a pinch of Turmeric and Pepper Pwdr ... 2 nights and it is usually gone ... Try it sometime :)

@CaseyRoss9966 I understand ... sometimes modern medicine is needed ... there's no other route for an emergency ...

I hope it does too but this morning I started coughing up phlegm so it will probably be a few more days. He called me yesterday afternoon and told me he would call me back when he got to the office but I never received another phone call from him or anyone else.

@TiarasOceanView Yes, he doesn't seem to want to do events with us but he says he does. I am giving him until Monday to call me back again and then I am calling him again. I am glad that it is almost over though.

Thank you. I was hoping it would go away today but I still have it but I can feel that it isn't getting any worse.

I hoped it would be to but this morning I started coughing up phlegm. I have at least a few more days of it. It looks like it is going to rain today and if it does it means my events will be canceled.

I've been fighting a nasty summer cold for a week now. And NyQuil has been my friend for the last couple of days, which thankfully has allowed me to sleep better. It never fails that I get sick right at the beginning of summer each year. Well, at least I'm consistent! haha
Hope you feel better soon!

@CaseyRoss9966 I took the day off from work today just so I can continue fully recovering. I would hate to go back to work when I started feeling better and then backtracked and became sick again because I pushed my body too hard.

@moffittjc I still went to my internship and volunteer places because I need the hours for my internship class. I can't afford to not get my hours since I need the class to graduate and we spent almost $1,000 on the class.

I luckily didn't have mine long. I still have a runny nose and a cough right now but I can sleep and breathe at night just fine.

I am sorry to hear that. My dad is the one who brought the cold home and then I got it. Next week either my mom or my boyfriend will get it.This one isn't as bad as the one we all got during Christmas.
