Favorite Summer Songs #9 - "This ain't the Summer of Love"

As one of our local bus driver's says, "Hang on, we're rollin'." We are at #9 in my Favorite Summer Songs series, which @TRBRocks420 started (be sure to check those out as well.) The 9th spot belongs to "This ain't the Summer of Love" by Blue Oyster Cult. "This ain't the Summer of Love" is the leadoff track from Blue Oyster Cult's 1976 album, Agents of Fortune. The hard rocker was released as half of a dual single with "Debbie Denise." And while it wasn't quite as popular as their big hit from that album, "(Don't Fear) the Reaper," it's a solid tune and a highlight of the record. The song has been notably covered by Lizzie Borden, L7, and Current 93. What can I say? Blue Oyster Cult is a favorite of mine. I even got a high five from co-vocalist Eric Bloom (who handles vocal duties on "This ain't the Summer of Love") at a BOC show. I never washed that hand again (just kidding.) Enjoy!
