I became one day millionaire

Last week, I was so amazed to see the amassing money I saved in BPI bank. For those not residents in the Philippines, there was a banking problem of Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI ).There was a leak and it took the clients days to withdraw their deposits and days to resolve the leak.
I am also a depositor of this bank . I forgot to share this last week. I was so busy going to BPI bank to resolve the matter. Sunday, last week after attending a Sunday Mass, I proceeded to BPI bank to withdraw my savings because of some fears . I saw on TV many cannot withdraw.
Then , thankfully, I was able to get access on my account, but HORROR! My saving on that bank is only P 30,000 pesos ( $750 moe or less), I saw there on the ATM machine my saving reaches to 3 Million . I told the guy in the next machine about the money then he said" you withdraw all" Ha??? No, it is not my money and I have just attended a mass. I left the machine for I was so terrified and next day I went to the bank to report to them the case. The bank manager was so thankful to me, yet he said if I withdrew the sum, no money to come out , so funny scare.
The next day I read in the newspaper , a couple was so shocked too, their savings in BPI bank reaches to 3 Billion They also reported the matter to BPI. How nice to own 3 million, lol. even in dream. I am only a teacher and teachers are poor.
Thanks for reading.Take care all.

@ridingbet All depositors nationwide of BPI failed to withdraw. That was a very big and hot issue two weeks ago. I was able to withdraw all my savings and transferred it to DPB.

Was this cause by computer hackers or a glitch in the banks accounting system? Even if you were able to withdraw the money, the bank will come after you when they find out the discrepancy and you may be criminally liable. Honesty is still the best policy.. But it was a nice feeling to be a one day millionaire.

@ilocosboy, hahahaha, my friend t, too, her saving in BPI was 3,000 pesos when she checked back during the leak problem, her money reaches 350,0000 wow what a bank failure to protect the money of the depositors.I withdrew my savings at BPI and deposited it to DBP, our university's bank for our salary releases.

You know even if you don't report it to the bank, they will know whose accounts have been increased erroneously and whose accounts decreased. They have their computers to give them all the accounts and verify them.
So, for those who withdrew more than their supposed to be balance, will be asked to pay for it by the bank.

@jaboUK, BPI is the second largest bank in the Philippines.Maybe there was an inside job. We do not know how was it solved. The deposits were on panic mood moving and transferring to any depositor. My friend was so excited from her 3 thousand to 350,000 pesos hehehe, so funny.

Haha, one day millionaire! What a scared and funny experience and it shows us you are a honest and nice teacher. I think the BPI bank should explaine and solve their systerm problem,it may make some people scare and it also waste the depositor’s time.
