A Rumble in the Distance

The sky is turning gray again and there is thunder in the distance. I hope we get only cooler temperatures and rain. It would be nice to skip the damage we had on Thursday night.
My photo is of a portable building that was for sale in a nearby town. It was damaged in the storm on Thursday. I saw it while we were getting gas to go in our lawn mowers. There were several other buildings there, waiting to be sold, not anchored down. I do not know why only one blew over, but it did.
I am glad my shed is firmly anchored.

That storm sounds terrible. Hope you don't have another one like it tonight

It was not windy last night, just rain, thunder and lightning.

The weekend is pretty nice, but I always have a lot of catching up to do both inside and out.

Even in our area we can get strong winds that send things flying into the air. Scary when that happens.

Those quick storms are so annoying @GardenGerty
The rumbles here were around us, but no action here yet! We know it is on the way.

About 7 Thursday night. At 7:20 internet went down, and about 7:30 the lights went out for a little bit.

This was a regular storm that took place three months ago. So far no severe weather during this hurricane season. I live pretty close to the center of the United States.

Do you get tornadoes where you live? Glad there was no severe damage.

The same with ours. Plus it is down in between our house and the neighbor's.

We have had storms with very high winds and the next day everything that wasn't anchored down well is all over the place.

So far we seem to just keep on with our business and the storms go through, but do not bother us.

We have ours strapped down with hurricane straps. It worked. It was still standing after Hurricane Matthew danced through the area last fall.

When we purchased ours they anchored it with two foot steel spikes in the ground.
