I said in my post "Got some yard work done" that I had trimmed some in my backyard before it got too hot. I think that I also said that it had really gotten away from me what with the heat and my concentrating on working on that bookmark order.
One of the things that got away from me are the blackberries. When we first moved to this house the blackberries grew along the other side of our 3 1/2 - 4 foot fence. Now that there are houses built around us, the blackberries have come up on our side of the fence.
The last time I looked at them, they were blossoming. Now, they have actual berries on them. Oh, well, at least I can pick them once they ripen...

I was going to say "nuh, uh!" but then I looked it up. Apparently blackberries are a shrub that grow canes. So in a way, I guess we're all correct.

No, probably just eat them like they are. When I was a kid, Mom made jelly with them.

Yep, this time of year I like having them. The rest of the year when I have to cut them back to try to keep them from taking over the backyard...not so much.

As an aside, blackberry leaves can be made into tea to help fight against diarrhea...So you could always harvest some of the leaves and dry them for future use. (Raspberry leaves work the same way.)
My kids also like to munch on the leaves (just because they can).

Is it me or they are green? Here we don't have blackberries
Well, we could get them, but it's hard to do it.
