Will The Horse die today?

I am tired of being stuck at home while my car is in the shop. Technically, I'm on vacation, but I still have progress notes from last week (and this--I cheated and worked anyway) to turn in at work.
If I head to work on by bicycle now, it will only be in the 80s, with bright sun shining. Work is only two miles away. But by the time I head home, it will be 1 PM and about 95 degrees. The high is supposed to be 100.
Should I do it? If I do, I will bring my day pack with two bottles of Gatorade in it. I can refill them with water at work. I will attach a pretty photo of the sunrise from Monday, when my truck went down. Will it be my third to last?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I am with you @LovingMyBabies. I would rather be in a blizzard than the heat.

Yes bike to work, put shorts and a tank in the backpack, change and ride home with less clothes. Then go jump in the pool!

I would wear a t-shirt or light shirt and get it wet before I left. Riding on a bicycle you will get a bit of breeze and that dampness will be cool. I did that here more than once. Good luck!

It was actually really nice on the way in! A cool breeze was blowing. The way home was a tad hot, but I made it (2.5 mi) without stopping for a drink. To our number-challenged @Maluse, that's about 4 km, I think. It's 95 degrees out now, but I'm not going to tell Maluse what that is in C. Buwaahaahaa!

@pgntwo Presently. I love that! Can you help me with proper use of "any such like" That's also very "English/Irish/Scottish" sounding to me. Richard Thompson uses it in 1952 Vincent Black Lightning and I've used it ever since.

Seeing how I'm late to this, did you ride to work?

@TheHorse - That's a one way trip to Safeway for me. I can do that ride in my sleep.

I would do it as you may get fresh air just from being on the bike and the wind. If not then just wait until you get your car back. I am not going to have my car next week as it's going in the shop also so i will be stuck driving my dads van yuck lol

@TheHorse well that's good you made it even though it got so hot. I hope your car will be done in time so you don't have to keep biking in extreme hot weather

Maybe the Gatorade and one of those cooling scarves that can go around your neck?? That should help!!

The ride to work was actually really pleasant! It couldn't have been more than 80 degrees out and I could feel a cooling breeze. The ride home was a bit hotter, but not too bad. It was 95 degrees out, but not the 102 they were expecting.

biking will get you there and you can take care of the business at hand. Good thing to bring the Gatorade for the ride. Good luck!

My policy is always to stay away from work on my vacation. But if you must I am sure you will survive. Or you could ride your bike just for the fun of it.

Get in some shade, if you can. Nice pic, looks like the whole state of California is on fire! Stay hydrated.

By the tone of your writing voice I think the horse can still take a lot of difficulty.;) Stay hydrated and look for the cool places. Cheers!

Personally if it is supposed to be that Hot out, there is no way I could suggest you doing something like that. I am sure this can wait. Your life is more important.

So how did it go? Did you survive the heat, or was it a tough ordeal?

It actually went really well. It was only 80 F on the way in (26.66666666666 C for @Mause and Vanny), but it was 95 F (35 C) on the way home. It wasn't that bad, though. I just took the ride home slow and steady and didn't even take a sip of water until I got home.
