Most of the AntiVirus works the same it's the question of how often or how automated you update your antivirus so for me having a single or multiple antivirus doesnt matter as long as you update your AntiVirus everyday. On the office we are using Symantec Corporate Edition and on my Home Computer i use AVG Free Edition together with AVG AntiSpyware. Anti-virus these days are not enough, you had to have a different scanner for anti-spyware softwares especially computer you use for online transactions. You dont want spywares to mess with your bank transactions so better be safe than sorry.

I use AVG and ClamWin, but I don't use avg resident shield: such instant checks may slow down the computer.

I am using AVG Free Edition.. why? because its free to download, and it only consume few memory.I seldom use norton anivirus, because it consume large amount of memory...specially during start-up/boot-up.It's not advisable to use norton for slow computer..If you want to use norton better upgrade ur PC..
