Just an old photograph

Those three were my first pets, Prissy was the first kitty I'd ever owned I got her in 1974. She was so very sweet and loving. She had kittens in 1975 and I kept one that looked like her only with short hair, I named him Stanley. I'm still looking for a shot of him. Those two pups with her are Rebel on the left and her daughter Sandi on the right. Rebel only weighed around 45 lbs but Sandi was at least 55 lbs. I was as loyal to them as they were to me and I still miss all of them. I just had to share a little about the first pets I had. I wish I had pictures of the dogs mom n dad got us but that was way back in the 1960s and most of those negatives were from those old Kodak cartridge cameras they used to have, I'm trying to find an inexpensive service that will transfer that film to DVD.

I wish I had photos of my first pet. It was a beagle my dad named Bogey after Humphrey Bogart, and unfortunately he got run over by a car. I remember as a kid crawling into his doggy bed and crying myself to sleep after he got hit by a car. I will never forget that beagle, but I sure do wish I had old pictures of him to look at!

I feel the same way about Suzie and Tootsie, I don't have any shots of them and I'm not sure if mom's are still in tact, she never really took care of her negatives.

Oh, that is a shame @moffittjc nothing could be worse than losing memories in that way but at least you didn't lose your life, hopefully the rest of your family is safe as well.

@rebelann I just don't remember us taking any photos of our pets, although I'm sure we did. Or, I'm sure they are in the background of other photos. Unfortunately, I don't have many photos from my childhood because we had a house fire and lost everything in the fire.

I will keep the negatives as long as possible but sometimes the heat here get ruined @vsai2008

@rebelann i too had some old negative film which had my father's old pictures but they cant be even made into a soft copy..they all got ruined..i can understand when you say you treasure them.. :) keep them carefully :)

At least eventually you'll have them all on DVD or CD. I cannot figure out how to scan the old cartridge film as it is different from the 35mm.

@rebelann We bought a special scanner that is designed to scan both the 35 mm and the old cartridge. We had so many that it was worth spending about a hundred dollar, because an external service would have been a lot more expensive.

I think we all remember our first pets. My first dog was white with black spots. I named him spot. We had to put our old dogs some time ago. They were both old and sick. We won't have any more dogs. Yours were neat.

Mom got us a lab mix when I was 12 and then we ended up with a pekinese when I was 14. I don't have any shots of either of them but maybe mom has a few, I'll have to go through her old photos. YIKES!

I'm trying to find photos of all the pets I've had in my life to put at least one of each in a big frame so I can see them all together. So far, one of them seems to be missing, but my nephew said he might have one. So I'm waiting to see if I can get one from him. They are all my "kids" and I miss them all so much!
