I'm 39 weeks pregnant and I get maybe 3hrs of sleep at night! Do any of you know of anything that will help!!! It sucks not being able to sleep. I hate leaving my bf in the middle of the night to watch tv. I munch on things and then maybe go lie down..but just lay there!

I read in a health book somewhere that if you eat strawberries before going to bed, it will make you sleepy. They said it's better than drinking milk. I wish I had known about the strawberries when I was pregnant! I know how you feel!

Your almost there!! My daughter is 4 months old. I rememeber being that close. Most of mine was just nerves, and she liked to start kicking about the time I laid down. LOL...Are you able to sleep during the day? I always cought cat naps during the day...mostly while my 2 year old was taking his nap. That seemed to work out pretty well. I kind of lounged on the couch. GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!!!

The baby kicks around that time. But after a while calms down. She likes to ball up on the side that I am lying on and if i switch sides she will ball up on that side. I can't nap during the day it's impossible. I don't sleep at night and I can't sleep during the day! I don't know how you do it with a toddler and a newborn! That would be the most impossible thing for me to do! Thanks for you response!

Its actually not that bad. I was REALLY worried how he would handle it when she was born, but he has been extremely good with her..as you can tell from the picture. He is always loving on her, trying to feed and anything else he can do with her. It was exhausting being pregnant though, oh boy. LOL that was not fun most of the time. But he is a good kid for being 2. He has his days, but most of the time he minds pretty well.

Take a warm bath or shower when you get out the slight temperature drop will trigger sleep responce, drink warm milk, or ... Try Pranic or Relaxing deep breathing, laying still and relaxed in a comfortable position does not matter how as long as you can be totally relaxed. Then music, or TV or whatever else relaxes you.
Take care, - DNatureofDTrain

Wow, wait til you have the little bundle of joy. You will get NO sleep!
Best to stay away from TV or the internet. Try reading, walking around the house, a warm bath etc..
My trick, which sounds silly, is counting backwards from 100 without moving a muscel. If you move, than you gotta start all over! Lol.
Hope that helps.

read books that are not interesting to you, or something like heavy books, e.g., deuteronomy and leviticus of the bible.

Hi, sillygirlsd. With your condition you need more hours of sleep than when you are not pregnant. Think of your baby first. The fetus needs you to be healthy and fit more than your bf needs you this time. You are going to be a mother soon, so start setting priorities for your coming baby. I am sure your bf will understand.
Now get relief from your sleeping problem asap! don't waste any more time.

Try warm milk. I do it everynight, and it works for me. Good luck.
