You must forgive me. I'm not being very suspenseful today when it comes to song selections for the various countdowns. Chalk it up to being a Monday, although I really didn't intentionally plan everything to be so obvious. For today's song that has a number (the spelled-out word) in the title, here's Admiral Obvious (as opposed to the commercial's "Captain Obvious"). #8: Seven Bridges Road - Eagles Yeah, I know, it should have been song #7. Sue me. This isn't a very original Eagles song. The song wasn't written by them, but by Steve Young (the outlaw country singer/songwriter, not the San Francisco 49ers quarterback). And, if you've ever heard Ian Matthews' version of the song, you can tell that the Eagles didn't even sweat an arrangement: they basically copied Matthews' version, note for note (even the bridge...pardon the pun). But oh, those harmonies. And, truthfully, the Eagles introduced me to this terrific song, so I'll give them props for that. Seven Bridges Road Written by Steve Young Recorded by the Eagles From Eagles Live, 1980 Moonlight and moss in the trees:
The Eagles' song "Seven Bridges Road" recorded live in concert set with a picture of the band with lyrics included.
