Mylot - Do you delete comments you don't like?

Yes, we can delete comments others leave on our posts, the option is there. There have been one or two posts of mine where I was tempted to delete a comment or two, but why would I? After all, I put my thoughts and ideas out there and I should be prepared to get comments, good and bad. I've been doing this since 2008 and have learned to roll with the punches.
If someone called me a name (they probably have under their breath) in a comment I would report them as this is not tolerated at myLot. That way Admin would deal with the person. If someone goes around doing that continually, they should be banned from the site.
What are your thoughts.....would you delete a comment if you didn't like what the person said? Would you reply to the comment, report it or just let it slide and move on?

Once I post a discussion I don't want to delete it... Just like you mentioned, we all, or most of us, have put a lot of thoughts into it so... It's part of me...

The only thing I would delete would be obscenities or bullying behaviors. Not gonna bother deleting anything else, even if I do not like it.

Some of those 'other' comments really keep a discussion going.

@AbbyGreenhill Thank you, I had a few rude comments in the past, someone who thought I was plagiarizing some tips, that was absolutely ridiculous. I think it is a "racist", he only like men and try to annoy women. I did not block him, but I never read his posts.

I never have. I have received a little criticism sometimes or maybe a snark here and there but nothing offensive.

@AbbyGreenhill Never tried to do so.Although I had received silly and abusive comments once or twice, but did not delete them. When we take part in a discussion,we must be prepared to face such comments.

Oh I'd definitely delete a comment if someone was nasty to me. I understand reporting them instead, but I doubt I could control my temper.

@AbbyGreenhill It happens every now and then. I think it's because we become impatient when the comment doesn't take immediately.

I think I have actually deleted one or two but only because they were more than I could tolerate. I would rather just take care of them myself.

I would not delete any comment. If I don't agree or don't like the WAY they have expressed how they disagree with me; I would still leave the comment. If they are rude, others may as well see what they are like. Like you, if they call me a name or blatantly break rules here, I would report the comment.

A personal name calling attack is different from a comment you don't necessarily agree with. On Facebook a former friend said anyone who wasn't for his candidate was not American and had no pride...well, I unfriended him because I am American and that's why I don't have to like who he likes.
