How Good Are Your Relationships?

We human beings form several relationships in our lifetime. The earliest and most important relationship is with our parents, grandparents and siblings. Then there comes the relationship with our classmates, teachers, and friends. As we grow older, we form relationships with our spouse and children and so on and on. However, in all of these relationships, there runs the basic element of love, understanding and caring.
Relationships cannot be built in a vacuum. Sharing our joys and sorrows, our trials and tribulations, our accomplishments and success with all of the important people in our lives, can be one of the most meaningful and rewarding aspect of a good relationship.
To sustain and strengthen a happy relationship between individuals, the relationship has got to be mutually beneficial and pleasurable. This basic essential in all relationships, depends on one’s “inner “self and is manifested by one’s behavior. It is through this “core” self, that a person’s character, principles and beliefs are manifested. This would require us to inter-act lovingly and appropriately while maintaining all our relationships. Deep, lasting relationships can only thrive by keeping this critical principle in mind.
So folks, how good are your relationships? Can you honestly assert that you are mindful of cherishing your relationships for a lifetime?

My relationship with my mom, brother, and boyfriend are great. About four of my friendship relationships are good. The rest are one sided, as other pwople dont get how they're supposed to work.

So glad to note that you are having a good relationship with your family. As for friends, they tend to differ from time to time @Courtlynn

@Courtlynn You are right in a way. Sorry you had to learn it the hard way. I would say: Never allow anyone to take you for granted right from the beginning of your friendship. Don't you think so?

All my relationships, even with my family are pretty complicated. I guess it maybe because I don't know myself as a person and the things I want in life.

Sorry to learn that all your relationships are complicated. I wonder why it could be! Do you own responsibility for the toxic relationships ? Or is it caused by someone you may not getting along with @Sakinasaifee

@sakinasaifee18 You may be right- - - partly. Please ask yourself: How much do you contribute to making your relationship better?

@Gabugs I think I definitely own responsibility for most of the mess. However every coin has two sides so a relationship cannot deteriorate with only one's fault.

This could happen; but when certain relationships are important to you, it would be in your interest to hold on to them @responsiveme Don't you agree?

So sorry to learn that you consider yourself "bad at relationships." @Prshnth Firstly, think positive; do not pull yourself down; you can change if you want to.
Next important thing is to be yourself; do not put on airs for someone. Be genuine in your words and actions.
Maybe I'll pen further tips in one of my future blogs.
Good Luck!

You are right; certain relationships fade away @Letranknight2015 However, we must ensure that we do not lose out on our close relationships.

Mine is just fine. Not so good but not so bad at all. Well, it is the reality. We can't always be happy. There will be times that we'll be tested. What's important is seeing yourself and your love ones still intact after the storm.

Glad you are maintaining a fine balance in your relationships @renicemae You are absolutely right.
Of course, one cannot have a smooth sailing relationship with anyone and everyone.
There will be ups and downs; sunshine and storms. But the true test of any relationship is to disagree with each other and yet, hold hands.
